About us

The London Film Music Orchestra (formerly Notting Hill Film Orchestra) is a professional orchestra focusing on music from film and television. Accomplished musicians and sisters Rossi Dusheva and Ivelina Dusheva-Martial founded the Orchestra in 2014, and in its first year the orchestra performed to great enthusiasm from audiences. Now in its fifth season, the Orchestra continues to perform powerful large-scale film and television music galas to sell-out crowds. Recent performances this year have drawn the largest audiences to date.

Over the past two years the Orchestra has been involved in some very exciting events:

– Performing with headliner Stormzy at Wireless Festival 2018.

– Ongoing collaboration with British neo-classical composer Ilan Eshkeri, performing his scores for Hollywood films ‘Still Alice‘,  ‘Stardust‘ and ‘Young Victoria

– Ongoing collaboration with lead composer for the BBC Arts department Chris Nicolaides (Revealing Destiny)

We advocate and support the work of female artists and have premiered exciting new works from Hollywood Music in Media award-winning composer Amanda Lee Falkenberg, and a short film score – with a live orchestra screening – from composer Nicola Chang.

We are also excited to be diversifying the organisation. Late last year we announced a series of networking events with guest speakers affiliated with the film and television industry. Our guests have included producer, composer, and musician Troy MillerAmanda Lee Falkenberg, and young award-winning independent filmmaker Amal Al-Agroobi.

We are planning to host an original Short Film Contest as well as an intensive educational outreach Weekend Workshop, for students of any age wishing to be involved with the performance of film and television scores.

A fantastic community Choir also plays a key role in our Orchestra.
